Sometimes I add a small amount of Curry Powder to it for a change. This is a seriously yummy easy meal. Add Ginger, Chilli Garlic Sauce, Soy Sauce and Spring onion, and mix to combine. Half fill a bowl with Freshly Cooked Rice or warmed cooked rice, and cover it with the sardine mixture.
Instructions to make Garlic Sardines Rice Bowl:
- Place Garlic and whole contents of the can of Sardines in a small frying pan, sprinkle with Sake (Rice Wine), and cook over medium heat for a few minutes. You do not need to stir.
- Sprinkle Soy Sauce over and remove from the heat. *Note: 1 teaspoon of Curry Powder is a nice addition.
- Half fill a bowl with Freshly Cooked Rice and cover it with Sardine mixture. Top with plenty of chopped Spring Onion and Shichimi (Japanese Chilli Spice Mix), and enjoy.
Place Nori and Toasted Sesame Seeds on top, and enjoy. My go to is a ramen noodle bowl, I add some olive oil and garlic powder to the cooked noodles, top with sardines in olive oil and chilies, add some more garlic powder, micro wave the bowl, add some grated parmesan and romano cheese to the heated mixture. Simply serve with lemon wedges and a colourful rice salad.. Place flour in a wide dish; add sardines, one at a time, and dredge with flour until well coated. Heat oil in a wide pan over medium heat; add sardines and fry until golden brown.
