- Get 2-3 green cardamoms
- Take 1 black cardamom
- Get 1 tsp sugar
- Take 1 tsp garam masala powder
- Make ready 1 tsp turmeric powder
- Take 2 tbsp ghee
- Get 1 tbsp oil
- Prepare as per taste Salt
Steps to make Mochar Ghonto (banana flower):
- First grease your palms with oil then extract the florets from the banana flower (mocha).
- Remove the black long stem-like structure from each floret. It is a hard part of the flower which is too hard to boil and difficult to digest.
- Then wash and chop the florets and boil with salt and turmeric powder. Boil till they become soft, keep aside after boiling.
- Heat ghee+oil in a kadhai. Temper with whole garam masala, bay leaves and cumin seeds.
- Now add ginger paste and cumin powder. Fry well.
- Now add coconut paste, turmeric powder and salt. Fry for sometime. Add the boiled chopped florets, cook again for sometime. At this point add the fried potatoes and boiled chana.
- Add ghee and 1tsp garam masala before turning off the flame.
- Serve hot with steamed rice.
