  1. Get 1 cup fried moong dal
  2. Get 1 cup potatoes cuts into medium cubes

  13. Take 1 bay leaf
  14. Prepare 2 tsp ginger paste
  15. Take 1 tbsp ghee
  16. Get As per taste Salt
Instructions to make Dalma:
  1. Wash the chopped vegetables properly.Wash the fried moong dal & soaked it for few mints & then drain the water.
  2. Take 3 tsp cumin seeds & 3 dry red chiies & dry roast them in a fry pan.Grind them into a fine powder.
  3. Cook fried moong dal, chopped vegetables, salt,turmeric powder in a pressure cooker along with 6 cups water for 2 whistles.
  4. Then switch off the flame.Open the cooker when all the steam has been settled.
  5. Pour ghee in a nonstick kadai & add the cumin seeds.Allow the seeds to crackle then add the dry red chillies & bay leaf.
  6. Then add the chopped tomatoes, ginger paste, turmeric powder, salt & mix them well.
  7. Add the cooked dal & vegetables with the roasted masala.Add a bit of water if required.
  8. Cover & cook for another 5 mints.Then switch off the gas & sprinkle the cumin & dry red chilli powder.
  9. Pour some ghee over it.
  10. Serve hot with steamed rice or phulkas.
