  2. Make ready 2 kg Soup Bone (see pic)
  3. Get Enough water to boil the meat
  4. Prepare Step 2 Spices
  5. Get 4 Star Anise
  6. Prepare 4 Cardamoms
  7. Prepare 4 Cinnamon Sticks
  8. Prepare Step 3 Blend
  9. Prepare 2-3 tbsp Kurma powder (see pic)
  10. Get 1 tbsp turmeric powder
  11. Get 2 big brown/yellow onion
  12. Take 4 garlic
  13. Prepare 2 " ginger
  14. Make ready 1 big green chilli
  15. Take 5 bird eyes chillies (more for extra punch)
  16. Take 1 tbsp Pepper (finely crushed using mortar & pestle)
  17. Make ready Step 4
  18. Get 2 sticks carrot - cut
  19. Get 3 big potatoes - cut into cubes
  20. Prepare 1 tbsp rice flour/corn flour
  21. Take To taste - Chicken Seasoning powder
  22. Get To taste - salt

Can be served with garlic bread in place of stew or mushroom soup. Adjust ingredients according to the amount of the meat/soup bone. Bone Soup (Sup Tulang) Thick soup. Can be served with garlic bread in place of stew or mushroom soup.

Steps to make Bone Soup (Sup Tulang):
  1. Prepare all ingredients: 1. Clean meat then boil until tender. Make sure enough water covering the meat. Using fine sieve, Remove all the grimes on the surface of the meat soup in between boiling. Once boiled, then simmer over medium heat. Meantime, prep the rest. 2. Blend ingredients. 3. Prep carrot & potatoes. 4. Dilute rice flour/corn flour in a 1/2 cup of cold water.
  2. Preheat 2-3 tbsp of cooking oil before adding ingredients in step 2. Fry for a minute or less then add ingredients from step 3, keep stirring until translucent & aromatic. Turn off the heat. Pour this into meat pot & stir to combine.
  3. Add in ingredient from step 4. Season to taste. Let this bone/meat soup simmer to perfection.

Adjust ingredients according to the amount of the meat/soup bone. Beef Bone Soup aka Sup Tulang is another Malaysian all time favorite. There are a few version and most popular are the Mamak Style or the typical Malay style. Sup Tulang, literally Bone Soup in Malay, usually refers to beef soups which are made with beef that is still attached to bones. I did not have any bones, I use beef shanks instead - making it Sup Daging (Beef Soup in Malay).
